I came across Apperson thanks to one of my little podcast life hacks, checking out line-ups for local shows. In this case, it was Madima’s record release show at Alex’s Bar. I gave Apperson a listen and even though their style isn’t usually my go-to, it felt like my cousin’s annual song recommendation from the great beyond. I went with the track “This Year” as a nod to the Mountain Goats’ classic of the same name. Hope you dig it.
